Last Minute Mother's Day Crafts
Mother's Day seems to always sneak up every single year. I'm usually in a panic to get together a cute craft. This year we simply ran out of time. Today I decided to make it quick and easy. Each student made a coupon booklet, smilie booklet, portrait, and bookmark. If you're in need of any last minute ideas you can download my Mother's Day packet for FREE or I found some really cute items in Precious Parents by Cara Carroll. I also have a Mum edition and Grandmother's edition for students who may have other caregivers. I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Check back tomorrow and I'll announce the winner of my little giveaway.

We will ROCK you FIVE for Friday
Love Five for Friday with Doodlebugs teaching. Here are our WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS.
We had so much fun studying rocks the past two weeks. We started by reading Let's Go Rock Collecting. They had so much fun collecting rocks in egg cartons. We also watched some cute videos on youtube and ended the unit with yummy ROCK food. I think metamorphic was a huge hit.

We also completed the gallon man and watched a neat video on Gallon Land.
I did a little shopping for End of the Year gifts for teachers and volunteers. Bath and Body works has some great new scents and some great SALES.
Since FCAT is over we can finally have recess again! We love the new gym equipment from Lakeshore Learning.
I had $49 from Office Depot Teacher Rewards so I bought some new pens and post its. What's your favorite school supply? Leave me a comment for a chance to win some extra goodies I have picked up this week. I'll pick one winner on May 10th.

Help! End of the YEAR video
I need some help! I have accumulated tons of photographs but need help making a slideshow. I'm about to start making an End of the Year classroom video and want your opinion. In the past, I've used shutterfly and Animoto. Does anyone have a favorite program to create a video/slideshow?
I just want to do a little research before I spend any money on monthly subscriptions. Animoto used to provide educators with a free 6 months. My subscription just ran out and I need to reapply if they are still providing the free subscription. I'm very new to everything MAC but wouldn't mind learning if you recommend Photo-booth or iMOVIE. Please share your video making secrets.
Thanks :)
I've heard of
and using my MAC.

Lirpaloof
Have you seen the lirpaloof? I was getting bummed over the weekend because I looped with my class. Looping meant I couldn't pull one of my April Fool's tricks from previous years. I was really disappointed that I couldn't do the awesome POP spelling quiz from Mrs. Bainbridge. It's still a favorite of mine. I also couldn't do the brown e's. Luckily, sweet Denise from Sunny Days had the perfect lirpaloof activity. OH.MY.WORD... I couldn't contain the laughter. My sweet second graders were all waving their carrots proudly singing "lirpaloof". You see we were very busy trying to catch a glimpse of this rare and elusive bird that feeds on carrots. You definitely need to give this little activity a try next year! It is a HOOT! THANK YOU DENISE and MRS. BAINBRIDGE for all the fun and laughter.
Mrs. Bainbridge's April Fool's Day Spelling Test is also a keeper. Check out her post from last year.
Number 1- there "There is going to be a lot of sun today"
Number 2- is "Today is Thursday"
Number 3- really "I am really happy to be here today"
Number 4- no "The answer to your question is no"
Number 5- spelling "Spelling words correctly is important"
Number 6- test "This is a test"
Number 7- today "Today we are going to have a lot of fun"

13- ha "The clown told a joke. I said ha"
14- ha (But, Mrs. Bainbridge, you just said ha!) "The joke was so hilarious I said ha, ha"
15- ha (Ummm... again, Mrs. Bainbridge?) "The joke was too funny! I said ha, ha, ha"
THERE IS REALLY NO SPELLING TEST TODAY HAPPY EARLY APRIL FOOL'S DAY HA HA HA
Getting our carrots ready for lirpaloof searching
"Lirpaloof, oh sweet lirpaloof"
We even tried releasing our butterflies because lirpaloofs eat small insects, seeds and of course carrots!

Listening- The sound of the fan! It's really nice not having any background noise at the moment.
Loving- I'm super excited for our Disney Trip. It's always a good time and this will be a first for my nieces and nephew.
Thinking- Report Cards are due tomorrow! Yikes! I'll be entering grades after school.
Wanting- I really want a blue radiance peel. I had one in October and it did wonders for my skin. I also need some more Jane Iredale mineral makeup. It's my favorite.
Needing- It was spring break last week so I stayed up entirely too late. I need to get to bed.
Advice for Life- Take lots of pictures!
